ALE shows 4,300 tons lifting giant
Abnormal Load Engineering, based in the Netherlands, has launched a new lifting machine called SK 90. The maximum lifting capacity of the new giant is 4,300 tonnes. With a wider base, called SK 120, the capacitiy can be increased up to 5,000 tonnes. These high end lifts are made with a strand jack lifting system. Smaller lifts up to 600 tonnes can be made with a winching system. The design of the SK-series begun in December 2006 when major crane manufacturers refused its development. The main purpose for the SK's are lifts for a petro chemical contract in Saudi Arabia.
