BMS moves into Sweden
BMS has acquired the assets of the Swedish crane hire company TP Kranar, based in Helsingborg Southern Sweden. The company has an all Liebherr fleet of five units, three of them over 100 tonnes. The largest being a 200 tonne Liebherr LTM1200.
Søren Jensen, Managing Director of BMS told Vertikal.Net that the move into the South of Sweden was logical given the proximity of the Malmo region to the Company’s Copenhagen headquarters. “The greater Malmo region is much closer to us than Jutland or even other parts of Zealand, with projects such as the new Metro line due to be constructed there will be some good potential in the years ahead” said Jensen.
Jensen also said that in addition to its own fleet of cranes, TP always had as many cranes again re-hired from BMS. He also confirmed that this toe-hold in Sweden was only the beginning of a longer term plan to expand across Sweden. BMS recently merged with Kran Ringen, which effectively reduced the contractor, MT.Højgaards holding from 100 to 50 percent. It is believed that MT would be interested to dispose of its remaining 50 percent shareholding if a reasonable offer was received.
